Saw Palmetto for Prostate Health: What the Evidence Says
Saw palmetto is widely marketed for BPH symptoms, but current evidence does not show meaningful benefit when used alone.
What the best current summary says
NCCIH says saw palmetto is promoted for urinary symptoms associated with enlarged prostate, but enough research has been conducted to conclude that it is probably not helpful for this purpose. A 2023 review of 27 studies found little or no benefit for BPH symptoms when saw palmetto was used alone.
Safety
NCCIH describes saw palmetto as generally well tolerated in studies, with mild and infrequent adverse effects such as digestive symptoms, dizziness and headache. Individual circumstances and medication use still matter.

Why it matters for Protoflow
Protoflow lists saw palmetto among eight botanicals. That fact does not allow us to conclude that the complete formula works for BPH.
